Saint Savina of Lodi

Saint Savina was a widow of Lodi devoted to the service of the martyrs during the reign of Maximian. She transported the bodies of Saint Nabor and Saint Felix to Milan to provide them with a Christian burial. Her relics were later rediscovered by Saint Charles Borromeo.

    Service and translation of the martyrs

    A pious widow of Lodi, Savina dedicated herself to the care of imprisoned martyrs and ensured the transfer of the bodies of Saint Nabor and Saint Felix to Milan.

    Saint Nabor and Saint Felix were two soldiers put to death under Maximian, whose bodies she took from Lodi to Mila n to a garden, known as the Garden of Phil ip, which had been consecrated since the time of the Apostles for the burial of the martyrs.

    In the 16th century, Saint Charles Borromeo rediscovered the saint's remains and kept a personal relic as a sign of devotion.
