    Miracle 02 / 04

    Ministry and miracles

A builder and reformer bishop, he is famous for his miracles over the elements, protecting vineyards against bad weather.

He was an accomplished prelate; through his incessant labors, he restored religion to the clergy, devotion to the people, their original luster and beauty to ruined buildings, and splendor to the divine offices. The gift of miracles added a deserved brilliance to his holiness; not only did he heal the sick through his prayers, but he also cast out demons and commanded the elements. His orisons, indeed, often warded off storms, dissipated hurricanes, and protected the harvests and vineyards against tempest and hail; hence it is that even today he is invoked against bad weather, and it is customary to represent him with a grape.
