    Biography

Youth and formation of Eurosia Fabris in Quinto Vicentino and Marola.

Eurosia Fabris, affectionately nicknamed "Mamma Rosa," was born on September 27, 1866, in Quinto Vicentino, Italy, into a family of modest peasants. In 1870, her family moved to Marola. Due to poverty, her schooling was limited to two years (1872-1874), but she acquired a solid mastery of reading and writing. She nourished her faith through assiduous religious reading, notably the Holy Scripture, the catechism, the Philothea of Saint Francis de Sales, and the Eternal Maxims of Saint Alphonsus Liguori. Very pious, she became actively involved in the Association of the Daughters of Mary, taught catechism, and passed on the art of sewing to the young girls of the village.

    Life and Work

Her marriage to Carlo Barban, her life as a mother of a large family, and her Franciscan commitment.

In 1885, following the death of a young neighbor, Eurosia took care of Carlo Barban's two orphaned infants. Discerning a call from God, she married him on May 5, 1886. Nine children were born from their union. Eurosia made her home a true "little domestic church." Three of her sons became priests, and she adopted other children in need, including Mansueto Mazzucco. Despite limited resources, she practiced overflowing charity toward the poor and the sick. In 1916, she joined the Third Order of Saint Francis. After caring for her husband Carlo until his death in 1930, she passed away on January 8, 1932, in Marola.
