Episcopate and Mission in Auxerre
Eladius or Helladius succeeds Valerian on the see of Auxerre.
Eladius o r Hella dius, Bisho p of Au xerre, held this see a fter Saint Val erian, around the t ime of Valentinian t he Elder. Entrusted with the care of the Lord's flock, he converted a great number of souls to the faith by his word and his example.
Death and Burial
The body of the source places his death around 385; the title indicates 387.
He went to receive from his heavenly Master the reward of his labors, in the twenty-third year of his episcopate, on May 8, around the year 385, and was buried on Mont-Artre , alongside his predecessors.
